Thank you for considering depositing data with USDAS!

Your data, when deposited will join a European family of data collections enriching the European data landscape and expanding the idea of sharing. We will take care of your data and preserve them for future use. We are doing this because we want to encourage scientific enquiry and debate and possibly create a meeting place for new collaborations between data users and data creators. Education is very important to us, so the data that we collect and curate represent important resources for education and training.

Preparing and depositing data takes some time but by following best practices and standards, it will not take too much time. Help us to maintain high standards for data management practice by implementing these standards from the very beginning of your project. Doing so makes the process very easy.

We are accepting for deposit data from research projects in all social science and humanities domains. We accept data from both quantitative and qualitative research projects.

Considerable amount of valuable data are lost because they are kept on private computers or other unreliable media. If this happens after the research project, there is no way to reproduce or check validity of published research results because the data are not reproducible. Even worse, data loss can happen during the ongoing research project so no results can be delivered at all. By depositing data in safe environment of professionally led data archive institutions, the data loss is highly preventable.
